Claudine
Claudine was motivated to start her first website DC Metro Mommy after the birth of her first daughter. Frustrated by the lack of local parenting resources for new mothers, she spent months curating a list of 4,000 vendors and created a guide and blog for local parents. After writing over 700 blogs and co-founding DC Metro Mom, a book was the next step in the journey to help families in the area. In a prior life, Claudine worked in Corporate America for 15 years. She often jokes that although there are similarities, executives are far easier to deal with than toddlers. She spends her time with her family and continues to discover new and wonderful things about the DC Metro area that she faithfully reports back to readers. She lives in Fairfax County, Virginia, with her two daughters and husband.
Amy
Amy is mother to two sons, a daughter, and a rambunctious boxer dog. Before motherhood Amy worked in Washington, DC as an attorney and has since switched over to editing, blogging, and volunteering. She is co-founder of DC Metro Mom and just loves to use her three children as guinea pigs to review plays, concerts, museums and other fun trips. She and her family have traveled across the USA, around Europe and the Caribbean. After living in Virginia for almost twenty years, she and her husband recently moved the family to the Boston area.
Micaela
Micaela is a travel reading junkie and loves discovering books, brochures, and travel guides from all over the world. She can hardly contain her excitement for the Kid Trips project and loves scouting out different local venues with her family. A former elementary school teacher, Micaela's writing credentials include running a local parenting blog, being a mom blogger for the Washington FAMILY Magazine, and composing family feature articles for Northern Virginia Magazine. She is also the Vice President (or as she likes to say "VEEP") of area non-profit, MIssion Sleep, which provides newborn care and education to military families. Micaela resides with her husband and two young sons in Fairfax County, VA.
