by Micaela WilliamsonThis past Friday, I was fortunate to attend Disney Social Media Moms on the Road and listen to the most inspirational mompreneurs I have ever heard that inspired me to take my own dreams to the next level. The speakers included: Keynote Speaker: Jennifer Labit, founder of Cotton Babies & creator of bumGenius, Flip, and Econobum Mompreneur Panelists: Christina Daves, founder and creator of CastMedic Designs and MediFashions, Anastasia Dellaccio, co-owner of Dolci Gelati, Frederique Campagne Irwinis, founder and CEO of Her Corner and Amy Creel, founder of Smart Mom Jewelry Listening to the story of Jennifer Labit got me thinking about my own goals. It was an inspirational Cinderella story. Jennifer and her family were struggling financially and receiving financial assistance to put food on the table. She started her cloth diaper/baby carrier business with one milk crate full of supplies, and through hard work and dedication, it has grown and blossomed into one of the top green baby companies in the nation. I try to live my own life this way and have high hopes for the growth of our book and my charity Mission Sleep. I truly believe in the Disney spirit and that with a lot of hard work and dedication, dreams really can come true! Naturally, the conference was also filled with all things Disney. Last winter, my family was lucky enough to visit relatives on the West Coast and spend two days at Disneyland and California Adventure. (I even blogged about California Adventure on Kid Trips and how I drank wine at a Disney parade!) Although we are unable to take any Disney trips this summer, we are excited for the release Monsters University and Planes. I will be attending the sneak preview of Monsters University in a couple of weeks at Tysons Corner Center. Look for my review in Northern Virginia Magazine, and have a monsterous summer with your family!
