Kid Trips Author Featured On "New" Elizabeth Street DC Moms Edition - Plus A Twitter Contest!6/5/2013 by Claudine ![]() ELIZABETH STREET UNVEILS WASHINGTON DC EDITION As the announcement hit my email last week, I squealed with delight! Elizabeth Street, the online destination where stylish moms meet, is at long last unveiling its much anticipated Washington DC Edition. I have always been a fan of Elizabeth Street. I discovered this intoxicating site when it first launched. It was profiled on one of my design blogs. Trust me, there aren’t many mommy sites that hit the radar of design bloggers! I was immediately taken with the list of über stylish moms that hail from Europe, Asia and North America. I lingered over the write-ups that featured Parisian mothers. I soaked up every word of the interviews with Ivanka Trump. I studied the sections on seasonal style and I daydreamed about hitting some of the parks that Roman mothers mentioned. The beauty of the site is that it opens up parental worlds that you would otherwise be totally unaware of and it styles the material and content in a very approachable format. Mind you Elizabeth Street is not only a delicious compilation of venerable establishments but it is also kid-friendly! ![]() When I peruse Elizabeth Street I feel as though I have found a hidden gem. I spend a lot of time on the web and I have yet to find a site that marries together style and motherhood as well as ES. And yes I still appreciate the self-deprecating words of honest mothers who admit to a lack of showers, sex and private time but I must admit it is incredibly nice to also have an infusion of simple style from around the world that is cataloged and presented in such a lovely way. Whether it is uptown glam, downtown cool or juggling jobs and a hectic home life, Elizabeth Street represents and shares the lifestyles of an eclectic group of mothers from all walks of life. Clearly I love the site. So you can imagine my total and utter surprise when they contacted me to be one of the first mothers to be profiled in the new DC Moms Edition. To borrow a line from Rachel Zoe, I died. So ridiculous and over-the-top I know. Let me have a bit of fun with this one. I literally jumped from seat and called my husband. He, of course, knowing my fondness for workout gear as a staple of my wardrobe laughed. Bless his heart. As any Southerner knows, "bless his heart" isn't as sweetly-intentioned as it sounds. ![]() After settling down from the excitement of this wonderful invitation, I crafted a short biography and list of my favorite local venues in the DC area for families to discover with children as well as a few spots for adult excursions. I spent a number of days building the list and walked away feeling fantastic about the material that I submitted. Please visit Elizabeth Street to see the new DC Mom Edition as well as the countless pages on other amazing cities. There are a number of local DC Metro area women that have spent endless hours creating enchanting lists for you and your children to enjoy. Take advantage of this wonderful resource. I guarantee you will fall in love with this site! To view the "NEW" DC Edition please visit the Elizabeth Street DC Edition Link. To see the entire site, please visit www.ElizabethStreet.com.
