It's time to spark your child's creativity! A new show, PINKALICIOUS & PETERRIFIC, is premiering on PBS KIDS on Monday, February 19, 2018. The animated show is based on the popular best-selling Pinkalicious book series by Victoria Kann and encourages kids to engage in self-expression through music, dance and visual arts. PINKALICIOUS & PETERRIFIC follows the adventures of Pinkalicious and her brother, Peter, as they explore the town of Pinkville with their neighborhood friends. Pinkalicious is an artist at heart and has a unique perspective on the world. She's also not afraid to express herself--though sometimes she needs a little help from her friends. Each episode includes two 11-minute stories featuring Pinkalicious, Peter and their friends, and one live-action interstitial. The interstitials will feature real-life kids creating art, as well as profiles of professional artists. As a PBS KIDS VIP blogger, we received some Pinkalicious goodies in preparation of the premiere and got to share them with a friend in the target audience (ages 3-5.) She was so excited! Purplicious is a well-known sequel to Pinkalicious and the book Pinkadoodles was new to us. We think it would make a fabulous gift. The book features over 100 pages of pictures for kids to complete and create their own doodles. Take a look inside: We encourage all little ones to stay creative through drawing, molding (sand and play doh,) observing nature, music and of course through play.
Learn more about PINKALICIOUS & PETERRIFIC at pbskids.org and on the PBS KIDS Games App, as well as clips and full episodes on pbskids.org and the PBS KIDS Video App, which is accessible on a variety of mobile devices and platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Chromecast. A PINKALICIOUS & PETERRIFIC app, Party with Pinkalicious!, a creative app experience that will support the series, will also launch in February. Parent resources will be available on the PBS KIDS for Parents website, and PBS LearningMedia will offer classroom-ready materials for teachers, including video excerpts, games, tips and printable activities. Be sure to watch the premiere on Monday, February 19, 2018.
