Simplify Your Life With A House Call Hairdresser!

Well it is officially summer for all of us.  For most mothers this is a time when we can kick back, relax and linger by pool.  Ha!!!  Just kidding.  For some (me) it is like Dante’s fifth circle of hell to try to deal with multiple children with diverse needs all summer long!  The sad truth is I actually relished being in Wegman’s today with JUST my toddler.  Sniff, sniff…I am already trying to come up with a reward system to incent my 1st grader to be a kind and honorable daughter this summer in the grocery store, gas station, pool and any other place that she steps foot in with me and her younger sister.

Naturally I will be looking for a few simple wins.  A drive-thru of any kind is big on my list.  So is online shopping for even the smallest necessities.  I am sure I am not alone.  If you are like me and want to try to find ways to simply your life, I have a great idea for you.  Have your hairdresser make a house call for cuts for you and your whole family.

My friend and hair stylist, Allison Brown, recently ventured outside of her salon and decided to take her business on the road.  It was a natural fit for Allison.  In the six years I have known her she has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Plus her most recent salon did not allow children.  Allison soon realized the confines of her salon was keeping her from a large portion of her customer base, children.  You see…every woman I know that has gone to Allison has fallen hopelessly in love her cuts as well as her lovely demeanor and warm personality.  I fell victim.  Once I started going to Allison it wasn’t long before I had my husband and daughter making regular appointments as well.  When Allison moved to her most recent salon that required customers to be 16 years of age and over, she graciously agreed to make house calls for many of her clients.  That need grew to the point that she is now officially in business, on her own and making house calls.

While I was a bit apprehensive about an in-home cut and color, our first appointment went off without a hitch.  I was even able to put my casserole in the oven as my hair dye was setting.  On another occasion, Allison came over at 6pm on a MONDAY for appointments with my husband and my daughter.  For me it was heaven to not have to break up the day to fight traffic to get to a salon.  For my husband and daughter, what could be easier than coming home from work or school and getting a cut?  No fuss, no waiting, zero traffic and I didn’t have to take my toddler to a salon where she would have screamed the entire time!

If you are short on time or just want the convenience of a fabulous house call hairdresser, I would highly recommend Allison.  She is simply amazing with children and she is a gifted stylist that can handle it all from fun cuts to color and highlights.  Insider’s tip: Her a-line cuts for little girls are beyond adorable.

You can contact Allison Brown of AB Hair Design @ aeb.phd@gmail.com.  To find out more about her range of services as well as prices, please visit http://abhairdesign.com/.

Note - Allison serves the Northern Virginia area.
