Make Meaning, the award-winning entertainment and events destination for fun with creativity, opened its sixth U.S. location at Bethesda Row in Bethesda, MD last June.  The colorful, 5,000 plus square foot venue includes a mix of interactive activities and experiences that allow families to create unique gifts and bond together in a fun, one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

"Make Meaning is a one of a kind place where adults and kids can both have fun with creativity. From a small playdate to a sweet 16 or corporate ‎outing, we have something for everyone," says Make Making Bethesda.

Drop-in Activities include:
  • Plaster and Ceramic Painting:  Choose from the ever-changing selection of handmade plaster figurines and decorative housewares. Little artists can decorate keepsakes with quick-dry acrylic paint, glitter glazes, and try out patterns with specially sourced tools.  Quick-dry plasters and ceramic items can be taken home the same day, or pick the food-safe kiln fired ceramics, which are “fired to a glossy perfection” in five days

  •  Candle Making:  Visitors of all ages can safely create their very own candle by using the huge variety of precolored wax, embedded items and dynamic shapes. Next, visit the “Scentsation Station” to add a yummy scent. Then, the candles are hand poured, wicked, and finished by a staff member to be taken home the same day.  While waiting, kids love to watch their candles cool at “The Skinny Dip,” a flowing wax-cooling river of water

  • Glass Making:  Patrons ages nine and up can use colorful pre-cut glass elements to design exclusive glass pendants, cufflinks, vases, platters and much more. Experts then fire, slump and remove any blemishes from the pieces to give them a beautiful touch.

  • Cake and Cookie Decorating:  This cool experience offers customers the chance to be a cake boss and decorate their own professionally, pre-baked cakes and cookies.  Decorators can use a wide assortment of edible accessories and colors, including a motorized rotating booth for edible spray coloring.

  • Soap Making:  Kids won’t fight about bath time when they have a chance to make their very own soap.  Pick from different colors, shapes, and embellishments, and add a favorite scent. Not only is this the perfect activity for all ages, but also soaps make an ideal gift.

In addition to drop in activities, Make Meaning has also has private party rooms for events of all sizes, such as birthday parties, bridal parties, baby showers and even corporate events.  They also do popular canvas painting events with wine for adults.  Staff members are named Associate Creativity Enthusiasts (A.C.E.) and not only oversee projects, but also offer entertaining tips and tricks to enhance the Make Meaning experience.  Find out more by visiting www.makemeaning.com/locations/bethesda-row/

Plus, Bethesda Row is a really fun place with dozens of hip, family-friendly restaurants, shops, a newly renovated state-of-the- art-movie theatre, and fun events year round.
