Inspired by the 2007 film of the same name, Waitress tells the story of Jenna, an expert pie maker who dreams that baking could be her way out of her small town. This hit Broadway show created by Sarah Bareilles playing at The National Theatre in Washington DC from May 15th – June 3rd.
The protagonist, Jenna, is a waitress who dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life. Estimated running time is 150 minutes, including one intermission.
